Just for something to do I have made up a chart with a selection of companies showing the percentage of shares traded in the last month.
The idea being that those with the lower percentage (thus being more tightly held) may last the storm better and maybe recover quicker.
There are of course many other factors involved but you would expect that ELK with 944,766 shares being traded over the last month out of a total of 62,210,503 (1.5%) isn't looking too bad if all things were equal, which of course they aren't.
By the way there were over 54 million shares traded on the 8/10/07 so the stock could hardly be called illiquid.
