    Not really. And btw I have been to Switzerland and I assure you they don't have much space to spare unless you find a way to build on the face of a cliff. Replacement value for a chalet in Switzerland is enormous and higher than most of the available stock on the market.

    As for the US, the Los Angeles area alone has more people living there than THE WHOLE OF AUSTRALIA. The US is the biggest economy IN THE WORLD. Plenty of immigration there (legal and illegal) and plenty of demand for new housing even now in the recession. YET, it collapsed.

    I love Australia but if you believe that it's the Shangri-La for every can driver and his dog (no pun intended) you have another thought coming. And if you believe that 500k for a weatherboard hut is good value... you really need to start looking yourself around.
