Unless you are mortgage free,no bank loans,car loans, credit cards,no outstanding accounts,bills etc then you are probably not borrowing to buy shares.
But if you have any of the above,sorry you are borrowing.You may not go to the bank and get an actual investment loan but if you use money you earn to invest rather than pay off outstanding debt then I see this as borrowing.As I suspect most of us have at least one of the above,so we are all borrowing in some small way to further our investments.
