I think everyone is forgetting the point. This bloke carried 400g of herion into a country that uses the death penalty.
What do we expect? The media are a joke. They sensationalise and manipulate the people of Australia and especially the powers that be.
I wonder what we would all be thinking if the shoe was on the other foot and the Singapore Government/media/people were telling us how to run our country. I dont think we would take to kindly to it.
Agree with the Death Penalty or not (personally i don't for drug associated offences), everyone who enters these countries know the risks associated.
I cannot believe the flack the prime minister has copped for not having a minute silence or for having a cricket match. There are thousands of innocent people being killed on our roads, overseas in wars and we want to criticise the government for not having a minute silence for a convicted drug trafficker. PLEASE!!!!
PS. For what it is worth, i do feel sorry for Van and his family. He is only young and did a very very stupid thing.
