You still have not figured out that little to no stocks trade in NYC EVEN the NYSE has no actual trades going on they just have the old trading floor set up with actors as a tourist trap. I guess it continues to fool you. In this age of computers do you still think Trades are done by people yelling across a floor.yes you would be mad to pick the bottom. Far better to totally miss the bottom and when the news changes get in yes you will miss bottom by maybe 10~ 20% but most of the good ride will still be in front of you. Most good investment books explain why this is true in detail.
Same is true for selling early and missing top. It take a little more research to know when top is coming. Usually real easy to spot end of bottom.
