Yes, I saw that program, and hadn't realised how far from viable the hydrogen car concept really was. Nevertheless, the statement at the end was potentially misleading, in that it suggests that in an environment of diminishing electricity prices, the cost of running EVs would reduce at the same rate as the cost of running hydrogen vehicles. That's clearly not the case. Electricity is a major cost component in producing the fuel, and running a hydrogen car. EVs have a different set of production & running costs, with battery materials and depreciation being significant.
If we were able to produce electricity for virtually no cost, I suspect hydrogen cars would be cheaper to run than EVs, but that's a bif 'if'.
