It is interesting that the 4.0 L bi turbo puts out 603 HP at 5750 - 6500 RPM. MB specks the peak HP for the electric motor at 21 HP So what impact do you think that has 21/ 600 = 3.5 %? Your 4.0L has 603 HP& 627 ft Lbs. of torque. My guess they are doing a lot just to prevent excessive tire spin when you hit it not looking for more power in low end . Most Hybrids h better at city 5ave better City are 50 or so and poorer at highway 45 or so. Simple reason is more braking in city. The 15 and 19 MPG is with professional drivers on a closed course who are driving to maximize MPG. No one achieves this. Unless you paid all that money to drive the car very carefully you are probably getting about 13 MPG on average. not a great hybrid. That is why you do not see many 48 MH from manufactures including MB.

If I want to drive a car I will go to my local dealer. When we had 48 MH discussions they were very friendly. Even were going to let me take one model home overnight which I declined.
