The following quote from yesterday’s ASX Release caught my attention.
“...this strong cash position provides a clear signal to parties requiring a licence to GTG's non-coding patents that the company now has an increased capacity to actively support its current licensing program.”
Now if that is not a shot across the bows of Applera, I don’t know what is.
Of even more significance is the fact that of the $20 million this company has in the bank, $9.8 million was contributed by the M.D. (Merv Jacobsen) in the recent options conversion. Now is that putting your money where your mouth is?
My reading of the situation now is that Applera will settle sooner rather than later.
It is ironic that for a company that started life as Duketon Goldfields may now strike the “mother lode” in its settlement of the Applera suit!
