Please tell us where you got the count on empty apartments. Where are these vacant apartments located ? National oversupply does not equal oversupply where people want to work. This is a country undergoing massive internal migration and empty housing may be at the villages they left.
I am not a metallurgist but palletisation is a post mining process and is expensive due to the amount of fuel required for sintering.
It seems to me that GBGs projected costs are <$50Aus per tonne FOB Geralton and another $7.50 US to the Chinese port at Quingdao. Add state and federal taxes ?? vs a current sale price of over $115 US per tonne.
Seems to be plenty of room to run a profitable mine even if ore prices fall further.
As well with its ownership and large investment I cannot imagine Ansteel buying at market price from anyone else. After all they made the investment to ensure a future stable supply
