Dex, excellent post. The ranting and raving politicians and their supporters only ever produce more ranting and raving.

Its true that in recent times no great well considered initiatives have come into play. Its all doom and gloom producing nothing tangible, nothing re-assuring, nothing like the great benefits arising from the past in opening up the Finance industry, medicare, superannuation, commencing trade with China etc. Even the attempt to deal with climate change and introduce new renewables industries that could have been the next great initiative of our time and secured our long term future has been saboteged by the ranting and raving who always fear change.

Politicians and govt’s instead of coming up with great initiatives instead feed us a diet of terrorist and financial related fear. Thats all they have to try and secure their own jobs. Abbott and Hockey took it one step further and also wanted ordinary folk to tighten their belts while leaving the top end alone. Interesting times!

In some respects the so called silly Greens are actually the great innovators because they know that the world must for its very long term survival engage big time in the use of non pollutant renewable industries and associated technological advances something in which a country like Australia could benefit greatly and provide the jobs for the future. BUT the ranters and ravers will say its just the silly Greens, while their own traditional jobs are going overseas and there is nothing to replace them here.
