Those bums can get away with it (telling lies to sell their competence) because most people don't follow economics, the markets etc and so tend to believe what they're told.
Some of the comments around have made me choke as well, but I've constructed my views through plenty of analysis and study.
Just like the headline of this thread made me gag so too did it stir such in a lot of feeling because of ignorance.
Anyway Hockey's trying to sell a budget with highly questionable forecasts and if that gives the stock market a warm fuzzy feeling in the crotch then good on it.
