    MANCHA BLANCA PROJECT
The Mancha Blanca tenements are held by MIMEX, and with no additional expenditure requirements (other than modest
tenement maintenance costs) Oroplata may explore and develop the Mancha Blanca project subject to the same "claw-back"
and other provisions as for the Cerro Negro Project.
The Mancha Blanca tenements consist of three rights to explore (called "Cateos"), namely, Cateos 414612/NMA/96,
415387/NMA/96, 409824/MIM/99 and, are located around 90 kilometres west-north-west of the town of Puerto
Deseado in Santa Cruz Province. This is approximately 260 kilometres east-south-east of the Cerro Negro Project.
Previous exploration has included geological mapping and rock chip sampling which defined a 750m x 150m rock chip gold
anomaly zone averaging 0.35 g/t Au. Further geological, alteration, regolith and structural mapping was undertaken, as
well as MMI soil geochemical surveys. A ground magnetic survey was also completed.
The geology consists of a sequence of rhyolitic tuffs, ignimbrites, pyroclastics, epiclastics, flows, dykes and domes. There is
a unit of laminated, carbonaceous siltstones and a zone of "poddy" breccia and veinlets with a chalcedony -pyrite matrix and
clasts of adularia altered volcanics and cherty, silicified tuff.
Nine reverse circulation drill holes were completed on the Mancha Blanca project area in 1999. Seven holes intersected
gold mineralisation. The best intersections were:-
    • 8m @ 1.58 g/t Au (Hole MBRC-2) (within 20m @ 0.96 g/t Au)
    • 14m @ 1.35 g/t Au (Hole MBRC-6)
    • 6m @ 1.12 g/t Au (Hole MBRC-7)
    • 2m @ 2.36 g/t Au (Hole MBRC-8)
The gold mineralisation appears to exist in two styles. The first style is hosted in hydrothermal silica breccias and
fracture/stockworked occurrences. The second style is associated with intense pyritisation, with or without silica, and usually
occurring in lenses, fracture fills and, locally, matrix replacement.
The Mancha Blanca project is at an early stage of development, but it has been demonstrated that epithermal style gold
mineralisation is present and there is a large area still to be explored in detail. In addition the lithological types present
suggest that the present level of erosion at Mancha Blanca is close to the palaeosurface at the time of mineralisation.
Consequently the prospectivity of the project area is considered high.
