How Stocks of the day are found.

I do a search via Metastock looking for price/volume breakouts every morning, out of the thousands searched, I'm left with about 200 stocks, then I view each one to find the best price/volume breakouts, do a bit of research, then compare the stocks left with my list of the best moving industries. The best moving industries list is found by noting every stock I view that has risen a lot, when a pattern is noticed I note that industry and add it to my list.

As at 5 may 08 that list includes:

Mining services
coal
coal seam gas
iron ore

I Average about 50% increase per year on my portfolio, when market is down I just stay away and do bit of options trading.
