Frank - No offense taken. Technical analysis is a bit like wetting your finger and sticking it in the wind to see which way its blowing. I use it mainly to screen stocks to then go and research the fundamentals. Then, once I'm convinced that this is a share that I could comfortably hold even if the guts dropped out of the price tomorrow - I then look at the charts again to pick an entry point. I think of it as base jumping. I look for a cliff I like (technicals) then check to see how far they go down, and how's my parachute equipment etc (fundamentals) then go back to check the wind direction (technicals). If I'm going to base jump, I prefer the wind to be blowing away from the cliff when I jump.
