This bit stood out for me, as I had not heard this before. I tried to find out more info, but the only info I could find all originated from the same source/person.

My mother has told me that I was almost taken from her when she gave birth, and that it was common for babies to be taken from young mothers at the time.

But I had not previously heard about the drugging, tethering and mothers being told their babies were dead.

The good old days were not always good.
