In an attempt to smear Walz, Team Trump posted a list of 50 ex Military Republicans against Walz.
A Veterans group checked the details and found that "29 of the signatures come from Republicans who falsely claimed they retired from military service".
Some listed ranks they were not entitled to claim after leaving the Services.
The designation "Ret." can only be used after 20 years minimum service.
That's a real violation of the Stolen Valor Act.
Walz attained E9 but retired as E8. Ronny Jackson still calls himself Admiral.
"The most egregious example is Ronny Jackson, the former Navy officer reduced in rank from Rear Admiral to Captain after retirement." "The group also singles out Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), who has come under criticism even from fellow Republicans for wearing a combat pin that he did not earn."
Team Trump edited and reposted the list, removing "Ret." and all the ranks, blaming "a copy edit mistake made by a staffer".
Did Team Trump accept any such reason when attacking Walz's political advertising and "misspoken" items ?
