An election now is the right thing to do, so they can “rout” themselves.

A period with Labor controlling both houses and being judged on policy success or failure is what the country now needs imo.

Totally agree.

For the first time in my life, I am considering voting Labor. If my memories and fear prevent me doing that on the day, it will have to be an Independant.
