(Actually corrupt manipulators of public opinion are exploiting the terrorist fear to get the public to condone things they otherwise wouldn't and hence hiding the real reason for going after oil)

In other words we are headed down the road of the end of globalisation, the evolution of regionalisation and the reemergence of a needs based marketplace - devolution!

(Actually globalisation will continue as rich countries try to own the wealth and resources but it just won't be the US dominating so obscenely. Maybe you mean internationalisation will end but that is unlikely also because in a very real sense it's the attack on internationalisation by the US that has caused the US to falter and lose its hegemony which was a permissive one not an enforced one. As soon as they resort to enforcement they get rejected by first world countries as well as third world ones)

The future will be about energy security because having supply will be far more important than not. Remembering most of the oil lies in countries that hate you and me because we have prospered from their oil riches and done so paying bugger all for the one thing that economic growth is predicated on - the assumption of cheap energy!

(If you build power stations that run on oil and use vastly more oil than countries 5 times your size then that is correct. In fact the US will have to stop using so much if other countries are to get their share until the US and Europe lead us all away from oil. But you know that yellowcake. Just take warning about uranium because Australia could become the new middle east for uranium with the world powers wanting it cheap)
