It was never about "reprisal actions", it was - and is - actions to ensure that Hamas can never again have the capability to fire their many thousands of rockets into Israel, or to conduct a repeat of their worse-than-animal acts of October last year.

Do you know that Hezbollah yesterday fired 115 rockets and drones into Israel?
Do you know that Hezbollah has been relentlessly, daily, firing rockets and explosive drones into Israel since October 8, 2023.

The unnecessary bombing of Dresden by the Allies in WWII being just one example. Doubt there would have been much hand wringing by the Brits in particular over that.
