I'm as confused as anyone else why they didn't issue asylum seeker visas.... maybe because they didn't want to recognise them as asylum seekers and so avoid being returned to Gaza? maybe because those coming here would incur lots of additional costs if under a different visa but on a tourist visa the Gazans have no rights except as tourists?
its a dodgy botched up job imo.
