Yes but its your reasoning of a 100% increase in dividends triggers a corresponding 100% increase in the share prices that I disagree with.
If earnings, cashflow and equity per share stay the same then doubling the dividend will have a significantly less impressive influence on the SP. Especially when you are decreasing retained earnings that can be invested at high rates of ROE.
