Just one comment pertinent to acturtle's original post.

I widened my trailing s/l as I went deeper into profit (mainly tech-specs). Rightly or wrongly I was prepared to offer more of my profit in order to stay in the trade. I'd start at 10% and widen out to 15-20% at times. It worked well but we are talking bull market conditions. It may not be prudent these days.
