    I do remember 17.5% That was 17.5 % on a maximum borrowing of $30000. It cost 3 times one's wages in 1982 to own a home.
    Today 2.5% on average not max of $500000 approx 10 to 12 times the average wage.

    No comparison to today's set of figures.
