"s that now that is has gone live at Morecambe bay it must be a stable functional platform "

You must have no experience in software development. Software is often "pushed" out the door before it is ready, I.e. - heavy pressure from management, public expectation, deadlines etc. Even the biggest, most expensive software development projects can be guilty of this - e.g. Windows vista.

I.e. just because the software has gone live doesn't mean that its finished and performing as expected. We should wait for updates on how well the software is going before making any conclusions.


The problem with this company is ... they spend far too much money. Supposedly its spent on R&D and software development, but I cannot figure out.

I think it boils down to poor management.
