Do not think so.....a government bank owned by the government (people) that is very safe an conservative and growing steady at a conservative pace every year would be good...
While letting the big banks make their money from derivative plays and so on.....( they will never be weaned off those now an its also very hard for them to decrease the plays for growth )
The government bank would be the final back stop if things did turn to shite around the world...the only problem would be is that it would be over regulated an over staffed as all government departments are....
