First up the ASX is not a regulator, they are just a company that facilitates the trading of publicly listed stocks. Whilst they have rules that they must adhere to they are NOT the regulator.

ASIC is the Commonwealth appointed regulator and they have and continue to focus their energy on revenue raising and not regulating. They have in fact in recent times come under much scrutiny for their lack of ability to act as a regulator. Google "Senator Brag ASIC" and read to your hearts content.

My first purchase of stock on the ASX was just shy of 60 years ago and in the last 20 years I have lodged numerous complaints with ASIC, all to no avail. So would suggest to you and anyone with your knowledge of how the markets work, stay well clear until you do.
