I think the market would thrive as a result of shorting being made illegal.
Confidence would return when people realized that now things traded on fundamentals not manipulation on the grand scale it is happening today.
It's a utter disgrace and indictment on the intelligence and willingness to actually WORK( yes I understand, a foreign concept to public servants and I was one briefly!) , of our elected represeatives .
Or there's a lot of back pockets being tickled which is probably more to the point.
