There are so many opportunities in the stock market where you can make great returns if you are patient, but too many "punters" are chasing the quick buck.
I started out about 7 years ago with a single $500 investment, which incidently took me 6 months to save and then fell 70% in a few months. Best $500 I ever spent.
Put that one down to experience and have been patient and diciplined ever since, now I'm really reaping the rewards. (with much bigger stakes than $500 now)
I think the trick is to find well managed industry-leading companies in consolidating and growing industries. TPI is a prime example. Will probably be volatile, but I've thrown it in the bottom draw and will let it run its course.
