laxatives and the like are probably the worst thing you can give to someone with a twisted bowl....
    I know from past experience
I know all the health and medical advice was for laxatives (or food that acts as a laxative)

it was the worst possible advice, if the bowl is twisted into a knot, almost no food will pass through, and forcing laxative type food results in compounding the situation and severe pain

a total overhaul of the diet is required, until the twist untwists itself, or surgery removes the twist
it took me 3 years before I could eat normally again, but I survived with good soft nutritional foods, including the tuna daily, but that was only later after the twist was resolved

give her only soft foods, soups, nothing hard, no beans, or foods that cause gas or bloating, almost no raw vegetables

I wish you had mentioned the twisted bowl earlier

prunes and the like are the worst things in that situation

I just did a quick google check, and they still talk of a high fibre diet....that was the worst possible answer for my situation
read these link for starters...seriously to get you on the right track
