unfortunately there is a district in nw qld (probably less than 10k people) where at least 19 people, many young, male, have committed suicide in a short time say less than 8 months,as a result of many problems..drought,economics of properties, sense of failure with the family estate, and then personal/marital problems. after this we have a breakdown of local societal interactions. this is not restricted to this local community. across australia suicides account for at least three times the road toll..and unfortunately some of that is self induced. i know this is not a regional problem only. any one from brisbane knows the particular railway station that drivers hate as it has more than once a weekly incident rate. .. ring a friend and see how they are travelling.. many people in the bush feel they have no friends. you might have a long lost mate who would appreciate contact.
