Thanks Jackpot,
I think you hit it but underestimated by nearly 3x
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country
In International dollars
Australia minimum wage = 29,640
&
Ghana minimum wage = 689
29,640/689= 43
So In minimum wage terms 670 employees is 670/43 = 15.6
Now I know these are not apples with apples as how reliable and transferable is the data of wikipedia & is this a minimum wage to miners wages comparative.................. ok ok
But it does illustrate that a lower cost with more labour and less capital is possible to produce the gold.
The other thing to think about is while all these guys are working then they are not out there looking for gold on the claim......... although the security around the gold room and surrounds needs to be stringent as the prize is large.
Hence the early investment by SBL in PR with the chiefs, schools, roads, dams and building police stations, has been wise and important for this stage of them being a producer.
% of GDP per person in Ghana is, according to the IMF, 137th at 2,615, whereas Australia is 10th at 39,699
