As the units can run on most anything, they suit whatever fuel is most available and comparatively cheap, and hopefully good for the environment.
A lot of people think of natural gas as petroleum based and aren't aware of another gas...Underground Coal Classification (UCG). their is also Coal seam gas or methane.
When CFU took it's product to Europe, UCG in Australia was in it's infantsy.
There are massive coalfields in Queensland and NSW and ideally not suitable for mining coal so perfect for UCG.
There are also huge brown coal fields in Victoria, these are easy to mine coal from but it is the worst possible coal to use in conventional coal fired power stations re carbon emissions and other nasties. However it is also very easy to extract UCG from these fields and environmentally friendly.
Somehow Victoria and it's Brown Coal Fields, the potential of UCG, BlueGen's launch there...... Is a marriage made in heaven!
