I was going to put this on the Hyrostor thread in reply to shumsta's post but thought it worthy of it's own thread.

We are all well aware of other wave technology companies that have gone belly up in recent times.  Companies like Aquamarine and Pelamis are two with very high profiles.

Both of those companies had many years in developing their technologies, almost to the point of commercialisation.

Like CWE, they would have put in a lot of time and money  researching prospective locations around the globe.  It took CWE many years of conducting wave resource monitoring, environmental studies, granting of licences, etc to prepare for commercialisation.

All of the time, money and effort put in by those companies will have been for nought, unless another wave company takes over from where they left off.

As one of the very few surviving wave energy companies still surviving, CWE may be in a position to capitalise on some of these stranded assets.

The link mentions Mare in New Caledonia as a location in which Pelamis was interested.

Pelamis may have gone bust but the New Caledonians still need a solution to their energy problem.
