    Thanks Buddy134 for your thoughts, lets just start off by saying it was meant to be a lighted dig at the close ties between the Greens, ABC, and Farmers, so if my broad brush strokes were a little thin then I?m not going to beat myself up too much.

    I?m very new to this site but do you like to read other people?s efforts as they are generally of a high quality, sorry to be a name dropper but a couple I have read lately like Yaqona, 77anthony, and hardmano show a side to the debate that seems to be lacking on our national broadcaster.

    Yes I do live in Asia, but do try to keep up through the Internet, print media and cable television, but don?t remember saying I have lived in Asia for a long time, it has only been about four months. So when you say;

    Hy Monkey,

    That really goes to show how much you really know about things. Very very little indeed, let me tell you.

    You can feel I?ve been told, for the record I am not looking to get into a pissing competition with anyone at this site, although I do read a few in other stocks groups that seem to take great delight in doing just that. If I did find myself in such a situation I would tune out pretty quickly and find something else to do, I guess like a lot of people I come here to be informed, entertained, and hangout with a few like minded people.

    But I welcome the fact you bothered to put me straight, as a lot of postings I see on some of the more fringe sites don?t bother with facts, so yes if we are going to win the debate on the value of coal seam gas then we must be held to a higher level of accuracy than the those trying to shut down this industry.

    Having gone through your posting I takeaway that government and council still can get what they want done, it?s more that it?s a bureaucratic nightmare subject to the review of the courts. I would prefer to spend my time engaging in a measured debate for the hearts and minds of the Australian public, so to that end if alerted by people at this site I plan to email the ABC if I perceive a bias or view factually flawed reporting. This is not to say I hate the ABC or I am some right wing nut who can only get it up watching fox news, as in Asia we are very well served by the Australian channel.

    The sorts of points I would like to make are that if we let the debate in Australia compare the work practices of this country, with how America and Canada are developing their natural resources then we will lose the discussion. Today I watched H2oil, if you want to see how not to do business then I urge you to watch this documentary, comparing us to them is like comparing night and day. The holding ponds for the waste generated by mining Canadian tar sands can be seen from space, so contrasting the holding ponds in our industry I start to feel much happier about my investment.

    As a carpenter who spent many years dragging his butt around major civil projects I am happy to tell you that over time the construction, and oil and gas industry has developed a culture of safety first, it seems to me that the way things are done in America and Canada has the smell of big tobacco about it and at some point might get Erin Brockoviched. So as a point of difference I think we can only get stronger as an industry with real value coming from being sort out by other countries looking to extract their coal seam gas safely with Aussie worlds best practices.

    Regards MB.

    Ps, Buddy 134 - someone must have liked strange bedfellows as it got a few thumbs up, again thanks for your feed back.
