Cardiff is the largest data centre in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. So it ludicrous to claim that it is somehow 'normal'.
The 'planned' SPI data centre would still be one of the biggest in the world. No major data centre anywhere in the world is off-grid. None of them would be stupid enough to use the most expensive source of base load electricity around.
The SPI 'data centre' is nothing but a bit of nonsense thought up by a bloke with zero industry experience or expertise. It doesn't pass even the most superficial critique.
