There was a couple of great childish nicknames for Adelaide Crows AFL players Daniel Talia and Graham Johncock - Jenny and Stiffy respectively.
Along a similar theme I recall when Brad Dick and Tyson Goldsack were recruited to Collingwood at the same time. One pundit claimed that "Dick has a reputation for standing tall and going in hard, while Goldsack is a noted ball carrier."
