Cross trades are from clients with the same broker.
Broker makes money on buying and selling.
As long as the sale is at the price that both clients are happy at, there's no need to sell to the top of the queue and let some other broker make money from the trade.
I'm with Commsec and have seen some of my trades go through as XT. I haven't been selling to myself, but there's so many people with Commsec, there's bound to be quite a few XTs.
