Nah, they don't pay brokers fees.
I've seen trades for $2 or $3 and less before. They use the bots to sell or buy without influencing the market and to take advantage of spread differences.
Some people scream 'conspiracy' but they're smarter people with better tools and we choose to play their game. Can't complain if we lose because of it. IMO.
