This conversion applies to within +/-5% as DAQ and ASX SP have shown to differ at close by this amount in the same day (please see my previous post on comparison). Meaning that if for example after applying the formula (10:1 and AU$/US$) one comes up with 1%-5% increase or decrease in SP, it may not be statistically significant and may not translate to, say from DAQ to ASX, the next day.
However if the volume is high (significant) then the %change may be statistically significant and transfer accross.
My rule of thumb is, for any change to be of real note, one needs to see at least 5% (substancial holding threshold) of the shares on issue bought/sold above that SP, for one to confidently say the %change from that SP means anything ... rule of thumb ...
