I cannot see where the tangible value comes from with cryptos. They are all based on the "greater fool theory" ... with the price only rising when someone agrees to pay more than what the previous holder paid. They are still based on fiat currency, are simply numbers on a screen - hence they are not a store of value. In order to justify purchasing and holding them, the promoters/rampers sell the "much hackneyed" concept of them being outside the system, anonymous and scarce. But, we know better - right? They are very volatile in price action so the lack of stability is another negative. I do agree they have somewhat of a novelty status however.
