There are any number of reasons why someone might sell CVI at a loss now. Here are just three.

1. To cystallise a capital loss to offset against capital gains made this financial year. The seller might repurchase CVI, maybe even paying a higher price.

2. If the investor believes the Dow is about to be hit and believes this hit will affect market sentiment here for stocks like CVI.

3. If the investor does not now like the CVI chart which isn't looking overly bullish at present.
