Well , it's now nearing the end of the financial year & for
myself I am nearing the end of my first years trading part time.

I thought I would jot down some of the lessons I have learnt
along the way that might help some of the new traders / investors.

For the record, my best performance has been +40% on capital at one
stage - now I would say I am just breaking even but can claim $15 grand
in brokerage to offset profits made in my other business.

Capital invested in stocks $80,000 - turnover $2,500,000 +

Here are some of the lessons learned ( The hard way) :

* Don't try & trade intra day - you will lose !
* Dont try & trade 20 stocks at a time - you might think you are spreading
risk but you won't be able to keep track of them & you will lose.
* Don't place your trade at one price - keep capital so you can place orders
in at lower lower prices so you can keep trading - ( don't get trapped in a stock at
a high price)
* Use a stop loss - you can buy back cheaper at a lower price
* Learn to read a chart
* Set a limit on how much money you want to place in the market
keep money in other investments or business interests.

Now I am holding/trading 3 stocks only.
