wow - watso was going to post something similar - with the topic header

FEED A FAMILY OF 4 FOR ABOUT $3.50

for this one, watso went all vegetarian - and the vegies part cost less than $1 - with the onions , carrots, spuds all costing 29c per kg

$1.00.... cost of vegies (carrots, onions and spuds)
$0.36c.. damaged tin of woolies coconut milk
$0.75c.. close to code vegie stock
$0.30c ..small tin "kids tomato soup"
$1.00.... some rtc stir fry flavour sachet
    spoonful curry powder

chucked the lot into the slow cooker, and is damned tasty. funny how the actual food cost less than $1 - but the extras cost $2.50,

ok - watso might eat the concoction by itself - but then again, might cook some pasta, or rice, or some meat as a little extra.... watso is defrosting a pack of coles "outback burgers" - which was rtc at $1.50 for about 500 grams

watso has recently purchased 10kg of spuds for $2.85 and 10kg of onions for $3.00
