Lads, Tooter has a point, a BOP rated for 10k psi holding down a current press of 9700psi may be a disaster waiting to happen under our watch.

Imagine a minor earthquake, seismic event; mining/explosives tremors, whatever happening somewhere getting past the "modulus of resilience" for the BOP. Basically just ~300 psi buffer.

That said assuming the technical crew and engineers know what they're doing and eat, sleep sh!7 this stuff everyday, then a remediation would already be in the works or ordered or already in place I would guess.
