    I'd read about similar concerns on AFR. One thing to bear in mind was that ACCC had no objection to the merger between what were then Australia's two largest energy companies at the time - BHP Petroleum and Woodside.

    There are some differences in the asset locations and types between BHP Petroleum and Santos, but if you go through all the key considerations within the ruling, one can easily replace BHP with Santos and the same arguments will be reached.

    Note that the biggest concern was centered around WA domgas supply.
