You say that as if one has more virtue than the other…trying to make money as opposed to trying to hold power. I don’t begrudge anyone the right to make money, that why we’re here - for ourselves and our families, but make no mistake, it’s ALL about self interest when it comes to money and business decisions. Just look at the successes (not) of industry self regulation: banks, life insurance and superannuation industries, not to mention the manoeuvres of that the iron ore majors to avoid paying tax. I could go about Gina’s LTR antics, CE’s NWR TO and most TOs, self interest as all about the few.

As an aside, politicians while far from perfect are trying to balance the interests of business, community, environment and state…the greater good (while keeping an eye on retaining power). Unfortunately we need govt - warts and all - to keep the bastards honest.
