Even so cuv have achieved EMA and FDA approval for a drug that was told off by the FDA in the years ante pw. There were endless ways this drug could have failed but only a few ways to make it work. Until now we are still in the highly unlikely scenario of succes.
Nobody can blame cuv for the draconian limitations on the approvals. The regulators have been avoiding cosmetic use at all cost without scientific facts to back it up. Even to the point that the website and any CEO speech had to be cleared from that word for years.
The company is nicely profitable and growing significantly for many years now. Nobody fears going out of business any time soon thanks to the way EPP roll out was managed.
I doubt if there were any corners to be cut. The body of scientific data indicating safety and efficacy of the drug is now impressive. Anybody claiming carcinogenic or other dangers with the use of Afamelanotide will only cast doubt on themselves. The true scientific data speaks for itself. EPP patients are returning year after year for good reason.
12 months until pivotal and company defining events should occur. The end of the phase 3 trial for vitiligo and the launch of m lines. In the mean time we should see a continued growth in revenue and hopefully a real marketing and branding effort. It would be nice to find out hoW cuv wants to manage production and distribution of the m lines. And a new CEO of course.
