The thing about piracy is that it is rarely people's first option. Piracy is a by-product of companies not producing content that is easy to access at a reasonable price.
Netflix has shown that on-demand streaming is a service that people prefer to torrenting. Torrenting requires some planning in advance to download the torrent, storing on a hard drive and transferring it if required to whatever you want to watch it on. On-demand streaming (if it is a good service) is a preferred alternative for many.
As for Australian shows, I agree it is crap, but the fact is a lot of people still watch it. It would be a boost for Quickflix to bag Aussie content for the streaming service, even if it is delayed after FTA airing.
