It is true the wording should be fixed to stop confusion, but I actually like the strategy of having new releases on a pay per play.

I can see content providers being open to a system of providing content as pay per play for a certain period of time (6 weeks?) before moving to general unlimited consumption afterwards.

I'm surprised Netflix hasn't implemented something similar. For people happy to pay for new releases straight away, let them do so. But for others happy to wait, have content available for free after a length of time.
