The ASX and Chi-x are competitors but some rules have been put in place to make sure your order gets filled at the best available price.
So if your bid was 0.008 on the ASX (which mine was), and there are sellers on Chi-x for 0.0075 (which there are obviously) you get to buy the shares for the lower price.
But the downside, as you point out, is that we can't see the market depth on Chi-x at 0.0075..
